At Open Futures (OF), we’re committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care – and we need passionate, reliable, and experienced female Disability Support Workers to support a vibrant young woman living in her family home in Jamboree Heights.
This role is part of a Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangement and offers ongoing overnight shifts (5pm–9am, 7 days a week). If you have a calm, adaptable nature and a passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy, this is your opportunity to make a positive impact!
About the Role
You'll be supporting a young woman in her late 20s who enjoys being active and engaging in her local community. She lives with her family and requires consistent overnight support to assist with:
Night-time activities and bedtime routines
Personal care prompting
Medication support (as per care plan)
Household duties and tidying
Meal preparation and assistance with shopping
Supporting positive behaviour strategies (PBSP and restrictive practices are in place)
This is a hands-on, fulfilling role where your presence, care, and consistency matter.
Support Worker Profile – Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking multiple female support workers who meet the following criteria:
Aged 25–30+, with experience in disability and working with individuals with challenging behaviours
Fluent in conversational and written English
Professional appearance and conduct (as you will meet the participant's family)
Must drive and have access to a vehicle – willing to travel up to 30–45 minutes
Comfortable working overnight shifts only (5pm–9am)
Able to cover shifts at short notice
Must be a non-smoker and physically active (participant is very active and requires engagement)
Comfortable working under mother’s guidance and approval process for new team members
Essential Requirements
Cert III in Individual Support or equivalent lived/work experience
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
First Aid & CPR (current or willing to obtain)
Valid Driver’s Licence & Comprehensive Insurance
Experience in behaviour support or high needs disability support
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide warm, respectful support and promote independence
Assist with personal care, hygiene, and mobility
Monitor health needs and follow care plans
Help prepare meals, shop, and complete household tasks
Promote social inclusion and build meaningful relationships
Attend team meetings and participate in ongoing training
