Our programs are designed to empower and develop independence and social skills.

The Role

The Key Worker role is responsible for leading the Supported Independent Living (SIL) Accommodation in the day to day management of the service and supervising a team of disability support workers in providing individualised support to each participant in line with organisational and NDIS standards.

This position involves both leading a team of direct support staff and directly supporting people with disabilities including:

Lead and develop the support worker team in the delivery of high quality person-centered services, in accordance with individual support plans and NDIS goals.

Ensure daily and monthly documentation is completed in a timely manner e.g. progress notes, activity charts, incident reports, monthly reports etc.

Be an effective role model and mentor for all team members to ensure awareness and accountability of procedures, documentation and reporting requirements.

Ensure SIL Accommodation is maintained in a high level of cleanliness, adequately stocked and safety standards are maintained by completing regular audits.

Assistance with participant's daily living including personal care, meal assistance, medication administration, living skills and recreational activities.

Creating meal and activity plans for participant/s.

Encouraging participants involvement within the community and assisting them to achieve their goals and making their life as fulfilling as possible.

Essential for this Role

Minimum of Cert IV in Disability/Aged Care/Community or Mental Health

Minimum three years' experience in supporting with people with disabilities including, challenging behaviours and complex physical disabilities.

Experience with supporting participants who have Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices.

Experience in Incident and Risk management

Flexibility and availability are essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts, morning, day, afternoon, evening, night and weekends

Willingness to work in the community.

Strong Communication skills.

Knowledge of NDIS Quality and compliance requirements and guidelines and an understanding of the National Standards for Disability

Valid work rights in Australia

Current National Police Check (within 12 months validity), (or be prepared to obtain)

Current First Aid & CPR certification (or be prepared to obtain)

A current driver’s license

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Module Certificate is mandatory prior to commencement: https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/workers/support-for-workers/training-course [link removed]

Must hold a Yellow Card
