Shape the future of Ranger Services in a fast-growing community
If you’re a calm and capable leader who thrives on solving problems, supporting a team, and strengthening community safety, this could be your next chapter.
As the third fastest growing local government in WA, our community is changing. Sure there is an increase in number of people who are lucky enough to live, work or play here. But beyond the numbers, we recognise that how we do things needs to keep pace with community expectations.
We have worked with our community to develop aspirational targets and need your help to make this come true.
About the Role
At the City of Armadale, our Ranger Services team safeguards community lifestyle and amenity. From fire prevention to animal management, from local law compliance to community education — no two days are the same. This is your opportunity to guide an emerging and committed team, bringing your experience to shape how we serve our diverse community.
As our Ranger Services Lead, you’ll:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Ranger team, setting them up for success.
- Oversee compliance and enforcement across animal management, fire hazards, parking, illegal dumping, and other local laws.
- Strengthen community safety and amenity through proactive education, problem-solving and respectful enforcement.
- Drive improvements to systems, procedures, and service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with local stakeholders, and the community.
Your leadership will mean that our Rangers deliver fair, transparent, and professional services — and our community feels safer, more supported, and more engaged.
About You
You’re someone who:
- Stays calm under pressure and can resolve conflict constructively.
- Brings integrity, attention to detail, and a strong grasp of legislation.
- Has experience leading teams in compliance, emergency, or regulatory services.
- Can coach, mentor, and bring out the best in others.
- Holds ROCS 1 & 2, Fire Control Officer qualifications, and a C-class driver’s licence.
- Has experience in animal handling and knowledge of relevant WA legislation.
