Use your healthcare experience to drive smarter workforce decisions

Have you worked in a hospital, health service, or government health agency—where workforce shortages, budget pressures, and planning challenges are part of daily life? Join Health e Workforce Solutions and help hospitals plan and manage their workforce with greater precision using HeWS software.

About Health e Workforce Solutions

We work with health services across Australia to improve how they manage their workforce. Our software and consultancy services help leaders:

Build staffing profiles

Align rosters and budgets

Model service changes

Identify workforce risks and opportunities

The Role

You’ll partner with health services to deliver workforce profiling, modelling, budgeting, and strategic insights—and become a product subject-matter expert who supports users, tests features, and builds guides. One week you might help a Director of Nursing understand the cost of opening a new ward; the next, you’ll help a CFO balance FTEs with budget or support a project team to implement safe staffing ratios.

Key Responsibilities

Budget builds and cost analysis: Analyse and forecast staffing expenditure across departments and programs; align FTE, NHPPD, and budget frameworks.

Workforce profiling and scenario modelling: Act as a workforce profiler; build staffing models based on activity, service levels, and budget constraints; run what if scenarios.

Education and training: Run education sessions, workshops, and super user training; create and deliver onboarding materials.

Client support: Provide frontline user support and coaching; triage and resolve queries; champion best practice use of the platform.

Software implementation: Support configuration, data checks, and rollouts; collaborate with client project teams.

Reporting and dashboards: Produce clear, executive-ready reports and visualisations for managers and boards.

Product enablement and quality: Learn the software in depth; plan and execute UAT/test scripts; document processes; develop how to guides, playbooks, and knowledge base articles; capture user feedback to inform product improvements.

New project support: Contribute to scoping, set up, and delivery of new implementations and pilots.

Qualifications and Experience

Background in health, finance, business, operations, or HR within a hospital or health service environment.

Strong Excel and data interpretation skills; technically advanced and comfortable learning new software (full proficiency not required from day one).

Qualifications in Health Care, Business, Finance, or HR (degree/certifications) are advantageous but not essential.

Nice to have: Understanding of FTE, NHPPD, staffing ratios, and nursing/hospital services.

Soft Skills

Professional verbal and written communication; able to explain complex concepts simply.

Solid mathematics/numeracy and analytical thinking.

Stakeholder engagement and facilitation with NUMs, planners, finance, and executives.

Detail orientation in documentation, testing, and process design.

Curiosity and a growth mindset—eager to master the product and improve the user experience.

Why Join HeWS?

Make an impact: Your work directly supports safer, more sustainable staffing in healthcare.

Work in health, differently: Apply your experience across multiple services, not just one.

Flexibility: Options for 24–38 hours per week; ideal for clinicians or planners seeking balance.

Small expert team: Mission led, collaborative environment with meaningful autonomy.

How to Apply

If you’ve worked in health and know that better workforce planning can make or break a service, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and help build the future of healthcare workforce strategy.
