About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Mechanical Fitter/Turner to join our team in a hands-on maintenance role within a busy chainwire mesh manufacturing environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to combine their technical trade skills with occasional leadership responsibilities. You'll be responsible for maintaining and reconfiguring machinery, supporting smooth operations on the floor, and helping to ensure safe and efficient workflow.

🛠️ Minimum 3–5 years' mechanical fitting/turning experience is required
🏭 Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
👷 Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred

Minimum 5+ years of manufacturing environment experience is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical fitting and machining tasks

Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance on production equipment

Reconfigure machines for various mesh sizes and production needs

Manufacture, repair or modify mechanical components

Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals

Provide guidance and oversight to 2–3 machine operators when required

Demonstrate supervisory or leadership capabilities as this experience is preferred for the role

Maintain tools, workshop standards, and accurate maintenance records

Ensure a clean, safe, and productive work environment

What You'll Need

Trade qualification – Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner) or equivalent

Solid experience with industrial machinery maintenance and repairs

Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

Confident operating machine tools and workshop equipment

Willingness to supervise and support operators when needed

Forklift licence experience is a plus

Positive, safety-first mindset and strong work ethic

Must have a valid Australian work visa

Must hold a valid work visa for Australian work authorisation
