Maintenance Fitter – Plastics Manufacturer (Day Shift)

Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (Overtime Available)

A well-established plastics manufacturing company based in Smithfield is seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join the team. This is a hands-on role focused on both pre-planned and reactive maintenance of key plant and production equipment.
About the Role Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing operation and efficiency of machinery used in the manufacturing process. Your work will directly support production targets and minimise equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities

• As a Maintenance Fitter you will carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant machinery
• This Maintenance Fitter will perform reactive maintenance and fault-finding to minimise production downtime
• The Maintenance Fitter will service and repair motors, gearboxes, belts, bearings, and hydraulic systems
• The Maintenance Fitter will assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment when required
• This Maintenance Fitter will maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards
• As the Maintenance Fitter you will work collaboratively with the production team to support operational needs

Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
• Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical knowledge, including motors, gearboxes, belts, bearings, and hydraulics
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Sound fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Commitment to safe work practices and procedures
