Comcare has a Non-ongoing vacancy for an APS6 Data Engineer in the Data Architecture and Engineering Team, in Canberra, Melbourne or Launceston.

Overview of Team and Role

The Data Architecture and Engineering team is part of the Office of the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (OCDAO) in Scheme Management Group and is responsible for ensuring that Comcare takes a mature and sophisticated approach to the management and use of data. To achieve that, the team works across Comcare to:

• Improve enterprise data governance.
• Foster a data driven organisational culture.
• Deliver better insights through new platforms and capability uplift.
• Ensure data architecture and data models cater for versatile reporting and analytics needs.
• Delineate impacts within our data environment to facilitate a better understanding and implementation of effective controls.
• Create a framework that helps people understand their responsibilities when it comes to data.
• Embed continuous improvement in process and quality of data captures.
• Ensure consistency in the description of common data terms.
• Ensure data is leveraged effectively to solve business problems.
• Enable data capability gaps to be identified and addressed across Comcare so that Groups can be more self-sufficient in working with data.

Qualifications/Experience

Mandatory:

• Recent and relevant experience (ideally, 2 years +) in a data engineering role.

Desirable:

• Experience working within an Azure cloud data environment
• Experience developing data pipelines for data visualisation / analysis tools such as Microsoft Power BI

Security Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
