Mechanical Fitter – Pneumatics & Hydraulics (Aviation Refuelling Equipment)
Location: Western Suburbs, Melbourne, VIC (Workshop)
Contract Type: 26-week labour-hire via TRS Resourcing (with Temp-to-Perm potential)
Pay: $55/hour NT + Super + Overtime + $27/day travel allowance

About the Opportunity: TRS Resourcing is partnering with a leader in road tanker construction/maintenance and aviation refuelling equipment.

Due to a strong pipeline of new builds and maintenance across both divisions, we’re looking to onboard two trade-qualified Mechanical Fitters to support commercial fuel tanker trailers and advanced aviation refuelling systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and route pneumatic airlines, valves, hoses, and related components
• Fit pumps, actuators, and associated hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Perform electrical fault-finding for integrated fluid control systems
• Service, repair, and maintain both road tanker and aviation refuelling systems, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines
• Read, interpret, and execute engineering and workshop drawings
• Prioritise workload effectively, working both independently and as part of a team

Aviation Refuelling Division — High-Pressure Pneumatics & Hydraulics Candidates will also be directly involved in servicing high-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems critical to aviation refuelling operations:

• Maintain and install hose winding mechanisms, dead-man safety shutoffs, and interlock systems
• Service high-flow aviation refuelling units, ensuring precision filtration, metering, and explosion-proof safety standards
• Handle systems that operate safely at high pressures, blending hydraulic power drives with pneumatic control features for reliable and compliant fuel transfer.

What We're Looking For

• A trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Fitter-Turner)
• Hands-on experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, particularly high-pressure aviation components
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to adapt across road and aviation refuelling systems
• Own hand tools (specialist tools provided on-site)
• Based in Melbourne, VIC, with legal eligibility to work in Australia
• Two professional references
