We are currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate Disability Support Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is experienced, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality support to people living with complex disabilities and high needs.

About the Role
As a Disability Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring that participants receive high-quality, person-centred support. You will be responsible for:
• Providing advanced care and hands-on support to participants with high and complex needs, including bowel care and other personal care routines.
• Coordinating and supervising support workers to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.
• Working closely with participants, their families, and external service providers to achieve NDIS goals and maintain a strong support network.
• Promoting independence, dignity, and cultural sensitivity in all aspects of care.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation and reports.
• Responding calmly and effectively to challenging situations, ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times.
Essential Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ proven experience working with people with high and complex needs (including bowel care).
• Demonstrated experience in team coordination and support worker supervision.
• Strong knowledge of NDIS practice standards, participant rights, and duty of care.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build respectful and trusting relationships.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Check/Registration.
• Current National Police Check.
• First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
Qualifications
• Minimum Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health.
• Diploma or Degree in a health-related field (e.g., Nursing, Allied Health, Psychology) highly desirable.
• Additional specialised training in high-intensity support (bowel care, manual handling, medication management, etc.) is strongly preferred.
