The City of Armadale is one of WA’s fastest-growing communities a place where more than 100,000 people live, work and belong. As our new Manager Communications and Engagement, you’ll lead the storytelling, brand and engagement strategies that build pride, trust and connection.
This isn’t just about communications. It’s about influencing the future of a city: how we talk about growth, sustainability, liveability, inclusion and culture. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll work alongside the CEO, Mayor and Elected Members to ensure the City’s story is bold, consistent and compelling and that the community’s voice shapes our journey forward.
What you’ll be doing
- Tell the big story — bring the City’s Strategic Community Plan to life through powerful campaigns and engagement that show how we’re building a sustainable, liveable and inclusive future.
- Build a City brand people believe in — position Armadale as a confident, connected and vibrant community, and ensure every message builds pride and trust.
- Influence at the highest level — provide strategic advice to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Mayor and Elected Members on brand, advocacy and engagement in times of opportunity and crisis.
- Shape conversations that matter — lead the way on growth, infrastructure, cultural learning and environmental initiatives so that the City’s reputation reflects its aspirations.
- Inspire a high-performing team — coach and empower a talented group of specialists to create fresh, creative, and impactful communications every day.

About you
You’re a bold, strategic communicator who wants your work to matter. You’ll bring:
- Senior leadership experience in communications, marketing, engagement or PR
- Strong brand, storytelling and campaign management expertise
- Ability to manage media, reputation and crisis communications with confidence
- Skills in using data and insights to deliver evidence-based strategies
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, PR or a related field
