Aurora Offshore Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager - Scour, with a strong interest in coastal and offshore engineering to join our team.
The Position
This role involves a mix of leadership and technical engineering roles, ensuring effective mentoring of staff, planning and execution of engineering work by the team. You will generate improvement in performance, introducing effective systems and processes to manage performance and ensuring project deadlines and customer requirements are met within time and budget.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage internal engineering / technical tasks, in consultation with Principal Engineers;
Assist the engineering team to deliver engineering tasks on time and on budget, including progress tracking and reporting;
Provide discipline expertise, guidance and coaching staff on company projects;
Provide support to the engineering team from a technical and management perspective, including formal and informal mentoring;
Lead and manage the junior engineers;
Work collaboratively with Aurora's diverse range of Principal Engineering discipline experts;
Provide technical leadership in areas of personal technical experience including seabed mobility, scour erosion and sedimentation, seabed intervention and remediation and GIS management of data and knowledge;
Report project status and progress to clients and company management on regular basis; and
Proactively engage with Aurora's management team, including assisting and supporting the Engineering Manager, Operations Manager and Managing Director in managing the company in the context of a highly dynamic growing organisation.
The Person
As the successful applicant, you will have a strong understanding of offshore engineering concepts including hydrodynamics; structural response modelling and geotechnics with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. You will hold more than ten years' experience in offshore renewable energy with a Bachelor of Master's qualification in relevant fields as well as:
A passion for using your skills to support the energy transition to a decarbonised world;
Technical expertise in seabed mobility, scour erosion and sedimentation, seabed intervention and remediation;
Proficiency in GIS management of data and knowledge;
High level computer literacy and proficiency;
Ability to synthesise information, identify problems, establish facts and deduce solutions;
Ideally demonstrable record of successfully engaging geographically diverse remote staff; and
A strong record of being highly engaged with staff supervision, training, mentoring and development of junior engineers.
