Community Action is a local Gympie charity that empowers people to live safe, fulfilling lives through high quality community-based services. The organisation encompasses a diverse range of program areas including: Community Housing, Domestic Violence, Youth, Financial Literacy and Multicultural Services.

The Position:

25h/week (Monday-Friday, 9am-2.30pm).

Contract to 30 June 2026 (possibility of extension).

Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Awards Level 2 with salary packaging and purchase leave available. Long service leave available after 5 years.

Immediate start.

This Administration Officer position is responsible for:

Providing Administrative assistance to the head-office team.

Assisting the Senior Finance Officer with administrative tasks.

Providing reception and administrative assistance to the Financial Literacy and Resilience program.

Providing reception and administrative assistance to the Multicultural Information Network Service.

Selection Criteria:

Community Action requires an ethical and honest individual who is empathetic, community-oriented and client-focused. Applicants are required to demonstrate their experience in writing in each of the following criteria with no more than half a page per criteria:

Essential:

Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel & Publisher).

Demonstrated experience in an administrative role or similar.

High level of discretion and professionalism.

Ability to adapt quickly, anticipate needs, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing tasks effectively.

High level interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow direction and work within established guidelines and procedures.

Desirable:

Understanding and/experience in the community services sector.

Experience using MYOB or similar financial/accounting software.

Mandatory:

Current Blue Card for working with children or ability to acquire same.

Current Driver's Licence.

Eligibility to work in Australia.
