About the Opportunity
This is an exciting new opportunity to join a diverse and dynamic Community Development and Youth Services Team. This role is responsible for overseeing the day to day implementation of the Broadford Living and Learning Centre and will be responsible for the operation of programs and initiatives to promote accessibility and participation, meeting the needs of the local community including providing affordable classes, activities and social networks to suit all age groups. This role includes delivering high-quality and consistent standards of excellent customer service, providing timely and accurate support for both internal and external stakeholders.
Tasks for this role include:
- Establishment of administrative tasks and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the Centre on a day-to-day basis
- Developing structures and consultative processes to enable the appropriate involvement of staff, volunteers, Advisory committee’s and the community in planning and program development
- Investigate and identify vulnerable or at risk community groups with the objective of creating local support networks through programs and partnerships
- Provide high quality customer service at all times with respect to the diversity and complexity of user needs in accordance with Council’s customer service charter and service standards and Neighbourhood House sector principles
This role is a Permanent, Part-time (0.7 EFT) opportunity.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9am – 4pm and Friday 8am – 3pm
Wednesday – centre is closed to public. Open for regular hire groups only.
Remuneration begins at $91.6K to $99.6K (Band 6) plus superannuation.
About You
You will be a highly organised and experienced individual to join our team in the Place-making officer role. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience in the delivery of community development frameworks, coupled with a strong background in customer service and community liaison. You will possess a high level of collaboration skills working with diverse stakeholders, including government and community organisations, computer proficiency and effective budget management skills.
Our successful candidate will have excellent time management skills which will enable you to prioritise effectively and manage competing requests while onsite, excellent oral and written communication skills ensuring smooth interactions with staff, stakeholders, and the community.
A genuine interest in working within the local government sector is highly desirable.
