About the role

Sun Construction Australia is seeking an experienced Accounts Clerk/Bookkeeper to join our Adelaide team in a full-time capacity. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and supporting our overall accounting operations — with a strong focus on compliance with accounting standards and timely financial reporting.

What you'll be doing

Record supplier invoices, customer payments, and purchase orders - Full-function bookkeeping

Track and update fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Perform daily reconciliations and prepare bank statements.

Prepare and lodge GST and BAS returns in line with ATO requirements.

Assist with payroll and PAYG submissions.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in our accounting software.

Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Ensure confidentiality and security of all financial data.

What we're looking for - Immediate Start

Diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Certificate IV acceptable with experience).

Minimum 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting or a similar accounts clerk role (construction industry experience preferred).

Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, BAS, GST, and PAYG compliance.

Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Dext and Excel).

Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organisational/time management skills.

Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.

Annual salary: AUD 55,000 – 75,000 (depending on experience)
