The Organisation

The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the ‘health voice’ for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.

Summary of the Role

This position helps create a positive and professional first impression for people making contact with AHCSA by maintaining a welcoming and well-organised reception area, and ensuring that all phone, email, and in-person interactions are handled promptly and courteously.

The Receptionist provides accurate information and assistance to staff, Member Services, stakeholders, and the public and is responsible for managing daily mail processes, maintaining courier and cab charge registers, and recording deliveries and dispatches using appropriate systems.
In addition to front desk duties, the Receptionist supports general administrative functions across the organisation, including assisting with travel bookings, meeting and event coordination, and maintaining accurate records and registers. The position also contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations by collaborating with other administration staff, sharing resources, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
