With their Melbourne office located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, this award winning engineering consultancy is well known throughout Australia. Due to a growing project workload, they are looking to strategically employ a Principal Structural Engineer to assist the delivery of a number of upcoming projects.

This particular firm prides themselves on their reputation for technical excellence and work on innovate building projects. They have a diverse range of clients in both the public and private sector and are involved in a range of projects, ranging from small scale buildings through to $60 million+ high-profile projects.

Employed in a leadership role, you will act as a technical authority, providing technical guidance to a team of engineers and modellers, as well as overseeing a portfolio of projects and clients.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

• Technical management of projects under your control
• Coordination and mentoring of your team
• Preparation and submission of project tenders
• Management of project budgets
• Sign off and delivery of project design and documentation
• Site investigation and supervision

As the ideal candidate, you will possess the following:

• A recognised degree in engineering
• CPEng and PE(Vic)
• Circa 12+ years of experience working in a consulting environment
• Extensive experience in the design and analysis of medium to large scale commercial, residential, institutional and industrial buildings
• A sound knowledge of Australian Building Standards and Codes
• Proven people management skills
• Previous experience in key client management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This is a key leadership position and is best suited to a proven engineer currently working at a similar level, or an ambitious Senior Structural Engineer looking to advance their career.

While negotiable, the salary on offer for this position is estimated to be between $140,000 and $180,000, depending on your specific experience.
