The Role
Join a well-established organisation with a supportive and passionate senior leadership team who are committed to your success. This is a hands-on operational role for a finance and administration professional who thrives on accuracy, structure, and driving business performance. You will work closely with the Group Managing Director and Senior Management, becoming a key member of a collaborative, high-performing team.
Responsibilities
Overseeing, managing and executing all aspects of the finance department
Oversight of the month-end process including ensuring the completion of the general ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the P&L statements
Completion of the commentary around variance to budget
Cashflow forecasting
Preparing the annual statutory accounts
Submitting returns such as BAS, FBT, and GST
Liaising with external auditors and banks
Managing the company’s financial systems
Providing commentary and analysis around the company’s performance to the management team
Providing financial advice to managers regarding initiatives to improve the company’s financial performance
Experience with regards to Australian Financial Services licence and/or audit and compliance thereof
Legal knowledge preferred, legal degree not essential
Requirements and skills
Solid understanding of the accounting principles.
At least 2-5 years in similar role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confident dealing with senior stakeholders
Ability to manage and mentor younger members of the team
Ability to solve complex issues
Able to work under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Experience using budgeting, forecasting and reporting tools
Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
Must have experience with Xero
Professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA
AFSL experience will be highly sort after
Property related experience is valued but not required
