About Us
Lou’s Place is a daytime drop-in centre for women in crisis. Women come to Lou’s because they are facing homelessness, domestic and family violence, addictions, mental health issues, hunger, isolation and loneliness.
On a typical day, 40–50 women walk through our doors. We provide case management, referrals, meals, showers, clinics, therapeutic programs, and activities. Lou’s Place is primarily funded by generous individuals, foundations, and corporate partners, with some limited non–recurring government funding.
At Lou’s, we look through an intersectional lens to understand that every woman’s experience of vulnerability, trauma, and gender inequality is unique. We meet women where they are and support their journey towards dignity and purpose.
