Development Manager – Commercial & Retail

A rare opportunity to step into a senior Development Manager role leading major commercial and retail projects across SEQ.

Ascend Recruit are seeking a seasoned professional with 8+ years' experience in property development to manage the full lifecycle of complex developments - from feasibility and approvals through to delivery and handover.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end development of commercial and retail projects
• Lead site acquisition, feasibility analysis, and project structuring
• Oversee planning approvals, design coordination, and authority negotiations
• Manage consultant teams, contractors, and key project stakeholders
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies
• Report on project performance to internal and external stakeholders
• Drive value creation and ensure alignment with project and business goals

What You’ll Bring:

• 8+ years’ experience in property development
• Proven expertise in commercial and/or retail projects (essential)
• Strong financial modelling and project feasibility skills
• Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management
• Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery experience
