Are you a support engineer with Linux experience? In this role, you'll be responsible for managing, optimizing, and expanding the existing infrastructure in a distributed environment, which is primarily composed of RedHat Virtual Servers.

Your daily duties will include monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing ongoing support for VMWare and RedHat servers. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting both virtual and physical network problems and creating custom monitoring scripts for client applications.

About your new Role

• Manage, optimize, and expand existing infrastructure in distributed environments.
• Provide daily monitoring and support for infrastructure, primarily Linux RedHat Virtual Servers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with VMWare and RedHat servers, as well as virtual and physical network problems.
• Assist in setting up and deploying new VMWare-based Oracle/Tomcat application environments.
• Create custom monitoring scripts for client applications.
• Triage and allocate work and raise helpdesk calls using HEAT/JIRA.
• Communicate the status of current issues to staff and clients.
• Raise security concerns with the Service Delivery Manager.

What you will need

• Strong experience with RedHat-based distributions.
• Experience in VMware ESX environments.
• Solid knowledge of Java-based applications and how to set them up and maintain them in RedHat Linux environments.
• Automation and scripting skills, preferably in a language like Python.
• Ability to operate within an ISO 9001 environment.
• Initiative to fix problems without being told and the ability to contribute to a tight-knit team.
• Enthusiasm for technology and a willingness to find new solutions to problems.
