We’re seeking an experienced Tourism Strategy & Development Specialist to lead the implementation of strategic tourism initiatives and champion the delivery of innovative, place-based outcomes. What You’ll Be Doing?

  • Lead the delivery of the organisation’s Tourism Strategy and Trails Master Plan.
  • Drive innovative tourism projects and place-based experiences that reflect the character and aspirations of the region.
  • Build strong relationships with community members, tourism operators, local businesses, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and provide strategic advice to executive leadership.
  • Identify and secure partnerships to support and deliver on tourism and economic development objectives.
  • Prepare, deliver and report on action-oriented strategies and plans that align with corporate, state and national priorities.
  • Oversee procurement, contract and project management activities aligned with tourism initiatives.

What We’re Looking For?
You are a creative, strategic thinker with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and translate bold ideas into tangible outcomes. You’re a connector, a communicator, and a doer.
You’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Tourism Management, Marketing, Communications, Economic Development, Project Management or similar.
  • Substantial experience in destination marketing, tourism development, economic development, or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, consultation and facilitation across diverse communities and sectors.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess economic, social and market trends.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation delivery.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A current C Class Driver’s Licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Desirable:
Experience working within Local or State Government environments will be highly regarded!!
