Perth’s most popular Chinese restaurant – Authentic Bites Dumpling House, located in the centre of the Chinatown – Northbridge, Perth. An extremely busy inner city Chinese restaurant which serves the traditional wok fried Chinese cuisine with authentic signature dishes such as dumplings and xiaolongbao (soup filled dumplings).

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate chef to join our energetic team. The position is full-time, and the chef will be required to work late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Hold at least Certificate IV or above in Commercial / Asian Cookery.

Minimum 3-years work experience as a chef in Asian cooking.

Knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure during peak service times.

A strong sense of teamwork and good communication skills.

A strong work ethic and positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

Responsibilities & Duties include:

Develop menus, including selecting ingredients, creating recipes, and ensuring variety and quality.

Supervise the preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure high standards at every stage.

Manage the kitchen's budget, control food costs, and minimise waste to maximise profitability.

Maintain and order stocks and supplies.

Collaborate with Managers and staff to address food preparation and service needs.

Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on best practices.

Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities.

Supervise and provide training to new kitchen staff.

Maintain a high standard of hygiene, OHS & Food Safety procedures in the kitchen.

In return, we will provide a yearly salary between $80,000 and $90,000 plus super based on your experience and skills.
