Experience Community Worker NEEDED

We are seeking an experienced and fully qualified Community Worker to work in our busy and expanding company.

This is a Full-Time opportunity for an enthusiastic hardworking and reliable person.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assessing Community Needs

Engage with individuals, families, and groups to identify their needs and challenges.

Conduct surveys, interviews, or focus groups to gather input from the community.

Analyse data to inform program planning and service delivery.

2. Providing Support and Advocacy

Assist clients in accessing services, such as housing, healthcare, education, and employment.

Advocate on behalf of individuals or groups to address issues like discrimination, poverty, or lack of access to resources.

Offer emotional support and guidance to individuals facing personal or social challenges.

3. Developing and Delivering Programs

Plan and implement community programs, workshops, or events that address specific needs (e.g., health education, skill-building, or cultural activities).

Collaborate with other organizations or agencies to deliver joint initiatives.

Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness to ensure goals are met.

4. Building Community Relationships

Establish trust and rapport with community members to foster collaboration.

Network with local organizations, government agencies, and businesses to develop partnerships.

Act as a liaison between the community and service providers.

5. Providing Information and Referrals

Educate individuals and groups about available resources, programs, and services.

Refer clients to appropriate services, such as counselling, legal aid, or welfare support.

6. Advancing Social Justice and Inclusion

Promote inclusivity and address systemic inequalities affecting marginalized groups.

Raise awareness about social issues through campaigns, workshops, or events.

Advocate for policy changes that benefit the community.

7. Administrative and Reporting Tasks

Maintain accurate records of client interactions and program activities.

Prepare reports for stakeholders or funders to demonstrate progress and outcomes.

Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

8. Crisis Intervention

Provide immediate assistance to individuals or families in crisis, such as those facing homelessness, domestic violence, or mental health challenges.

Develop safety plans and connect clients with emergency resources.

9. Training and Capacity Building

Train community members to take leadership roles in initiatives.

Facilitate peer support groups or volunteer programs to strengthen community networks.

10. Promoting Community Well-being

Encourage participation in community life and decision-making processes.

Empower individuals to develop self-reliance and resilience.

Foster a sense of belonging and connectedness among diverse groups.

Experience required:

At least 1 year of relevant work experience

Qualification required:

At least Diploma of Community Services

Skills required:

Attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure

Reliable and motivated

Good team player

Communication skills
