Xero Accountant – Build the Finance Engine for a High-Growth Business

Based in Fairfield/Bankstown area, the business is expanding with strong momentum. They’re looking for a Xero Accountant who can upgrade processes, improve workflows, and turn a patchwork system into a well-oiled machine.

The Opportunity In this role, you’ll:

• Take ownership of Xero across multiple entities, implementing best practice for payroll, expenses, invoices, project costing, and consolidations.
• Streamline manual processes (leave forms, expenses, Excel uploads) into automated Xero workflows.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations, rate card setups, and proper linkage to other business systems.
• Drive process improvement across finance operations — from batch payments to consolidation to management reporting.
• Work closely with the CFO and leadership team in a business preparing for significant growth and transformation.
• Be the “go-to doer” in the finance back office, ensuring everything runs seamlessly while the business scales.
• Cleans data, reconcile, and switch on Xero features.
• Implement policies and processes.
• Removes need for overseas labour through process automation.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• An expert in Xero with strong Xero practical knowledge
• Experienced in small business or entrepreneurial environments where you’ve worn many hats.
• Strong on reconciliations, common-sense accounting, and driving financial hygiene.
• Confident implementing finance systems and creating scalable processes.
• A “hands-on doer” who can manage detail while supporting future commercial analysis.
• Ready to work on-site in Fairfield/Bankstown (5 days per week).
