We are looking for an experienced Café Manager who can lead the opening and ongoing management of Polana Café, a new hospitality concept in Mt Tamborine.

About us
Polana Café, inspired by The Polish Place since 1983, is a place where guests reconnect with nature through coffee, food, and a unique atmosphere. Currently under renovation, we are preparing to launch a destination café that blends authenticity, design, and great service.

About the role
This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the very beginning. You will play a key role in shaping the café’s opening – from setting up operations to building the team and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Key responsibilities

· Lead the pre-opening setup: sourcing equipment, suppliers, and stock.

· Work with ownership to design and implement the menu concept (in collaboration with chefs/baristas).

· Responsible to recruit, train, and lead café staff.

· Establish systems and SOPs for smooth daily operations.

· Manage budgets, cost control, and pricing strategy.

· Deliver excellent guest experience and build a strong café culture.

Skills & qualities we are looking for

· Previous experience in opening and managing a café/restaurant.

· Strong knowledge of café operations (coffee, food service, customer experience).

· Ability to recruit, train, and manage a new team.

· Financial and cost management skills (menu costing, budgeting).

· Strong organisational and project management skills.

· Passion for hospitality and creating unique customer experiences.
