About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of the mining sector to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting the business in delivering accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes the following responsibilities, some of which are primary and others where you may serve as a backup to support the team.”

Invoicing Processing

-Receive, verify and record supplier/vendor invoices

-Match Invoices with purchase orders and receipts

-Ensure accuracy and proper approval before payment

Ensure timely payment arrangements

Record keeping & Reporting

-Maintain organised records of all accounts payable transactions

-Prepare AP aging reports and assist with month-end closing

Reconciliation

-Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger

-Reconcile vendor statements and liaise with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or missing documentations

Work with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure proper allocation of goods and services

Fixed asset accounting (incl. PPE depreciation and CIP management)

-Maintain fixed asset ledger and ensure asset tagging

-Capitalisation of completed projects from CIP

-Depreciation management

Coordinate and management external auditing processes related to assigned accounting areas

Assist in checking & recording packing-list/stock-in list reconciliation& update, inventory movement recording and cost allocation

Negotiations and communications with all third parties, acting in the best interest of Stakeholders and ensuring commercial confidence is protected.

Execute the implementation of the Company’s inventory management system and travel on mine site to oversee inventory stock take.

Language Skills

Proficient in English and Chinese

About you

Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in an Accountant position

Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

Proven self-initiative and problem-solving skills

Meticulous attention to detail and numeracy skills

Strong work ethic, can-do attitude, and willingness to get involved

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Effective collaboration across the business

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent and either CA, CPA, or CIMA qualified, or be actively working towards these certifications

Working knowledge in MS Excel, MYOB Advanced, or similar ERP systems

Business trips to the island as required

Have unrestricted right to work in Australia

Previous experience within Mining sectors will be highly regarded.
