About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Accountant to join our dynamic and supportive team. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, including small to medium enterprises, family groups, and not-for-profit organisations. Your responsibilities will include preparing financial statements and income tax returns, managing BAS, IAS, GST, FBT and PAYG compliance, maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and assisting with financial performance reports. You will also provide taxation and business advice under the guidance of senior accountants, while liaising with clients and regulatory authorities.

The successful candidate must have:

· Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in accounting or a related field

· Minimum of Two years of relevant professional experience in in accounting, taxation, or business services

· CA or CPA certification is highly regarded

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

· Fluency in Mandarin and understanding of Chinese cultural background will be highly regarded

· Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and strong skills in Microsoft Excel

· Proficient and up to date with developments in taxation law and accounting standards, systems and processes

· Strong working knowledge of tax planning, GST, Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements

· Detailed knowledge of tax office correspondence and procedures

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

· Strong organisational and time management skills

· A proactive and professional approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilitie:

· Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian accounting standards.

· Prepare and lodge tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies in line with ATO requirements. This includes BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT and PAYG.

· Maintain accurate and organised financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and reconciled.

· Develop and assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports for clients.

· Liaise with auditors, clients, and regulatory authorities to provide necessary documentation and support audit processes.

· Monitor and implement compliance with statutory requirements, internal controls, and firm procedures.

· Provide financial and taxation advice to clients under the supervision of senior accountants or managers.

· Utilise accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) to record, process, and analyse financial data.

· Support clients in understanding their financial reports and assist in strategic planning for business growth.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including liaising with clients from Chinese-speaking backgrounds to provide tailored support.
