About the role:

The purpose of the Network, Infastructure and System Administrator is to ensure the effective installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of AMES Australia’s network, infrastructure, and systems environments. This includes managing data centres, servers, storage, virtual environments, and remote access solutions, while supporting database and systems administration. The role also contributes to IT projects, policy development, performance reporting, and staff training, with a strong focus on compliance, security, and continuous improvement to optimise IT operations and enhance the user experience.

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

  • Minimum of Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field and/or
  • Demonstrated experience working in this field
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft and Citrix technologies in both cloud and on-premise platforms
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to work with Storage Area Networks, Virtualisation and Remote Access technologies and Open Source platforms
  • Good problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to successfully resolve hardware and software problems in an efficient manner
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with a range of staff and external agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage system implementation projects within timelines
  • Ability to produce coherent documentation and reports targeted at both user and technical levels
  • Continually maintain and acquire new professional skills through training, research and self-study
  • Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability, teamwork, professionalism and demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement principles
