Practice Manager – Chatswood (In-office role with some flexibility)

We’re Property Tax Specialists, an award-winning boutique accounting firm in Chatswood. We help property investors, business owners, and SMSF trustees cure financial stress and boost business success.

As our Practice Manager, you’ll be the glue that holds the practice together — managing workflows, systems, clients, and deadlines. If you’re organised, tech-savvy, and love variety, this is your chance to make a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing (Top 10 Activities)

ATO Mate: Action daily ATO correspondence — update client details, allocate tasks, and follow up with clients.

Compliance Support: Manage general lodgement obligations, extensions, remission requests, and ASIC tasks via NowInfinity.

Karbon & XPM: Create jobs, assign tasks to staff, update job budgets, and keep workflows humming.

ATO & ASIC Client Maintenance: Add new clients, keep profiles accurate, and ensure everything syncs across systems.

Team Oversight: Encourage the team to use Karbon templates consistently (aka “nag nicely when needed!”).

Workflow Organisation: Make sure jobs are aligned in Karbon & XPM — no client or deadline slips through the cracks.

Client Communication: Be the friendly, reliable point of contact for clients, keeping them updated and happy.

Process Improvement: Spot opportunities to streamline how we use Karbon, XPM, ATO Mate, and NowInfinity.

Deadline Management: Ensure lodgements and compliance tasks are actioned well before due dates.

General Operations: Keep the practice running smoothly, support the Principal Advisor, and help us grow!

What We’re Looking For

Background in accounting or tax practice operations (even if you’re not a qualified accountant, you understand the lingo).

Tech-savvy and systems-minded — you’re comfortable jumping between ATOMate, Karbon, XPM, NowInfinity, and picking up new tools.

Client-first mindset — you communicate clearly, professionally, and with warmth.

Organised and proactive — you like ticking off tasks and keeping everything (and everyone!) on track.

A positive, can-do attitude — you enjoy problem-solving and making things easier for both the team and clients.

Availability to work from our Chatswood office most of the week, with some flexibility where needed
