About the Position

Working within our Community Learning and Libraries Team, The Coordinator Library Programs and Events has the primary responsibility to coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of library programs and events that support the recreational, cultural and lifelong learning needs of the community.

This role will:

  • Provide leadership and coordination of the library programs and events, ensuring alignment with KPIs and strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain high impact relationships across the organisation, while promoting a culture of safe work practices.
  • Ensure all services within the portfolio comply with legislation and meet community needs and organisational priorities.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Library and Information Science, Education, Community Development, Event Management, or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for Associate Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Well developed budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Previous experience working in a public library or community development area, including staff management.
  • Knowledge of the National Principles for Child Safety and how to apply the principles effectively in a library workplace.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
  • Current National Police Clearance.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
