The Shire of Exmouth is seeking a dynamic and community-minded Events Officer to join our team on a full-time basis to help deliver vibrant, inclusive events that celebrate the Exmouth community and its beautiful surroundings.
Reporting to the Coordinator Community Development, you will be responsible for developing a comprehensive annual events program for Shire-run events and activities. You will have the opportunity to build partnerships within the community and implement the events program, identifying the potential for community involvement and support, and will develop new and innovative events that enhance and embed a positive image of the Shire of Exmouth. Throughout this role, you will communicate with internal Shire departments and external stakeholders and community groups to coordinate and deliver community development activities, formal commemoration services, community events, biennial festivals, and health promotion activities both internally and externally. In liaison with the Coordinator Community Development, you will develop budgets, apply for and acquit grant applications and external sponsorships. Key responsibilities also include maintaining event-related policies and records, coordinating volunteers and staff, preparing risk management plans and other insurance-related documentation, and producing marketing content in collaboration with the Communications Team.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for a proactive and highly organised individual with a passion for community involvement and planning, and coordinating, and delivering a wide range of events and programs. You will have a strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and an understanding of community development, along with the flexibility to attend events and functions outside standard hours. Ideally, you will have advanced knowledge and working experience in identifying, developing, and managing community events and activities, and/or a tertiary or certificate-level qualification appropriate to this position, such as in event management or marketing.

What we offer: This position is classified as a Level 6 under the Shire of Exmouth Enterprise Agreement 2017, and comes with the following remuneration benefits;
· Base salary of $73,250 per annum
· Housing allowance of $5,000 per annum
· Location allowance of $1,955 per annum
· Up to 22% superannuation (includes co-contribution by you)
· Regular RDO’s and 5-weeks annual leave per annum
· Eligibility for long service leave after 7 years of service (conditions apply), uniform allowance, employee assistance program and other well-being services.
