🌱 We’re Hiring: Residential Gardener / Lawn & Garden Maintenance Crew Member

It’s lawns, gardens, and the odd soft landscaping job — variety guaranteed, mullets optional (business in the front, party in the back is fine by us).

We’re looking for a reliable crew member to join our maintenance team. If you enjoy working outdoors, know your way around the tools, and are keen to build on your skills, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role

We’re Mint Landscapes — a small, family-run business based in Craigie. We take pride in high-quality work and have built a supportive crew that looks after residential gardens and lawns in Scarborough and the surrounding suburbs.

We’re done by 3:00pm most days — leaving you plenty of time for a surf, a gym sesh, or a tactical nap.

The role is primarily garden and lawn maintenance (about 80% of the work), with the occasional soft landscaping project (roughly once a week) to mix things up.

Think installing new lawns, shaping out garden beds with Corten steel edging, planting coastal-style gardens, laying feature steppers (like bluestone or sandstone), installing trellises, and handling reticulation installs or upgrades. Don’t worry if you’re not skilled in these areas — training is provided, and the focus is on being solid with the maintenance work.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lawn care — mowing (rotary & cylinder), edging, blowing

Garden maintenance — hedging, shaping, weeding, fertilising

Reticulation — basic testing & minor fixes (desirable, not essential)

Herbicide & fertiliser application (desirable, not essential)

Soft landscaping (planting, turf, edging) — training provided

Job notes & schedule management via ServiceM8

What You’ll Need

Experience in residential garden and lawn maintenance

Confident with tools — hedgers, mowers, blowers, etc.

Manual driver’s licence

Access to your own vehicle (essential so you can get to and from HQ reliably)

A great attitude and pride in your work (bonus points if you’ve ever won an argument with a whipper snipper cord)

Spray ticket and basic retic skills are desirable, but not essential

Nice-to-Haves (but not essential)

MR truck licence

Chainsaw use

Tool maintenance

Soft landscaping experience
