Embedded Engineer to work in a cutting edge international fintech firm.

Candidate Requirements:

Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Tertiary qualification (Bachelor's or higher) in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, or closely related fields.

Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in a relevant field or 5 years of hobby experience with microcontrollers, C/C++, Python, or other languages.

Hands-on experience with embedded hardware (e.g., STM32, ESP, Arduino, ARM, other custom microcontroller platforms).

Proficient in embedded software/firmware development using C, C++, or other languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Python.

Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and communication protocols.

Demonstrated expertise in integrating BLE, Wi-Fi, 4G, LoRa, Zigbee for IoT devices.

Understanding of IoT-specific communication and network protocols (e.g., MQTT, IP addressing, TCP/IP, DNS).

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).

Proficient in PCB design.

Create prototypes and test specifications, undertaking hardware testing.

Design, implement, and test embedded systems and electronics.

Develop new products and maintain existing designs.

Perform complex fault finding and repairs, generate schematics and PCB CAD files.

Ability to design harness/wiring and maintain tools, utilities, scripting, and documentation.

As part of your Developer role, you will also spend 20% of your day supporting clients (about 5 calls a day).

Excellent spoken and written English communication skills is required for this role.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively.

Open and willing to learn new technologies and programs with an eagerness to stay hands-on and ahead of the curve.
