Join Stralis Aircraft, an innovative aerospace company revolutionizing flight through hydrogen-electric propulsion technology. We're seeking a talented Aerospace Software Engineer to play a critical role in developing cutting-edge control systems for our proprietary Hydrogen-Electric Propulsion System.
As part of our dynamic engineering team, you'll contribute directly to the A36-HE Technology Demonstrator - a groundbreaking Flying Test Bed that will validate key functionality and performance in comprehensive flight testing campaigns.
What You'll Do
Core Engineering Responsibilities:
Software Development: Design and code advanced control systems using Python, MATLAB, C/C++, and specialised control languages
Systems Integration: Contribute to aircraft system design and component selection for optimal hydrogen-electric propulsion performance
Testing & Validation: Conduct simulation, prototyping, and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing to ensure system reliability
Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs meet aerospace industry standards, particularly DO-178C, and work with regulatory bodies (CASA, FAA, EASA)
Innovation & Collaboration:
Partner with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers
Lead research and development initiatives to advance propulsion system efficiency
Create comprehensive technical documentation and provide training to stakeholders
Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement innovative solutions
What You Bring
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering or related field
Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C/C++ for simulation and embedded systems
Proven experience in aircraft/spacecraft component design and testing
Knowledge of aerospace standards and certification processes (DO-178C experience highly valued)
Technical expertise in aerodynamics, propulsion systems, avionics, and systems engineering
Preferred Skills:
Experience with CFD tools (ANSYS, Fluent, OpenFOAM)
Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks)
Previous work with regulatory bodies and airworthiness processes
Start-up or fast-paced technology environment experience
