About this opportunity:
The Engineering Technician works across design, data, and documentation workflows to ensure accurate outputs aligned with Mackay Regional Council (MRC) policies, program objectives, and infrastructure delivery standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Digital data management and effective administration of project documentation.
- Prepare support-level technical drawings and documentation using CAD software.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates for various types of infrastructure projects.
- Prepare, draft or amend legible 'as constructed' drawings from data supplied.
- Interpret digital field survey and drone model data using CAD software.
- Provide technical support and assist with general business administration tasks as required.
- Liaise and engage with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, as required.
- Any other responsibilities as directed by your immediate supervisor within the scope of this position.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Trade Certificate (preferred), vocational, tertiary or other related qualification
- Relevant experience in engineering design, drafting, or a similar field.
- Strong attention to detail and technical drawing skills.
- Experience using CAD software
- Experience in data management systems (desirable)
- Strong organisational and document management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Team player
