About this opportunity:

The Engineering Technician works across design, data, and documentation workflows to ensure accurate outputs aligned with Mackay Regional Council (MRC) policies, program objectives, and infrastructure delivery standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Digital data management and effective administration of project documentation.
• Prepare support-level technical drawings and documentation using CAD software.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for various types of infrastructure projects.
• Prepare, draft or amend legible 'as constructed' drawings from data supplied.
• Interpret digital field survey and drone model data using CAD software.
• Provide technical support and assist with general business administration tasks as required.
• Liaise and engage with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, as required.
• Any other responsibilities as directed by your immediate supervisor within the scope of this position.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Trade Certificate (preferred), vocational, tertiary or other related qualification
• Relevant experience in engineering design, drafting, or a similar field.
• Strong attention to detail and technical drawing skills.
• Experience using CAD software
• Experience in data management systems (desirable)
• Strong organisational and document management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Team player
