Are you passionate about creating greener, more sustainable urban environments? The City of Fremantle is seeking a dedicated Urban Forest Technical Officer to join our Urban Forest team in delivering an exceptional urban forest program that enhances the beauty and liveability of our city.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support a skilled team, ensuring that our urban forest initiatives meet the needs of our community while aligning with the City's strategic goals. With a well-resourced planting program and a strong focus on greening, you'll apply your comprehensive arboriculture expertise to maintain the City of Fremantle's urban forest.

Key responsibilities include:
Under limited direction, apply comprehensive arboricultural, horticultural or similar knowledge to maintain the City’s trees in accordance with Council policies, strategic documents, and requirements of Council
In accordance with the City’s administrative procedures, and when required use initiative and judgement, to prioritise, plan and organise works and operational procedures to maintain the City’s urban forest.
Support the appropriate management of the City’s urban forest to increase its canopy cover and resilience.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
Qualifications and /or specialist skills in Arboriculture and /or Horticulture or other relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience in urban tree management or a similar environment, including practical experience in a similar role/s.
Sound written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
Ability to operate as an effective and productive team member to lead and manage work.
Functional skills in computer programs including Microsoft Office and to manage task specific information and technology systems.
A current WA ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
