About us
Disability Support Link is an established and registered NDIS allied health provider servicing participants in Metropolitan Melbourne and Bass Coast Region. Our Mission is to empower people living with a disability, helping to facilitate new opportunities and greater choice and control. We provide an innovative multidisciplinary service that includes various allied health professionals and support coordinators, utilising a collaborative approach to provide customised support and address the unique needs of each participant. Our core values are - Together, we work to Educate, Advocate and Make a difference. We currently employ 3 OT's and are looking to expand our program to include OT's to cover the North, West and South/South East Regions of Melbourne.
Qualifications & experience
An AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with relevant qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS framework and the disability sector
Experience working in the community setting (preferred but not essential)
Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities and communication styles
Commitment to upholding ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professional integrity in all clinical practice
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment
Ability to work autonomously and independently
Proficient in the use of IT and computers
You have your car with your current driver’s license.
You have an ABN number, Police Check Clearance, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening
Tasks & responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments utilising appropriate standardised assessment tools to identify the functional capacity and needs of participants.
Delivery of individualised interventions that are supported with up-to-date evidence-based practice to address the participant’s needs and goals appropriately
Prescription of equipment and completion of assistive technology applications
Writing NDIS reports for plan reviews, exploring housing options and other NDIS processes
Maintaining a person-centred approach throughout your occupational therapy input with participants
Collaborate appropriately with participants, their families, their support networks and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care is provided and optimal treatment outcomes are achieved
