Subcontracting Occupational Therapist – Paediatrics (Kempsey, NSW)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team in a subcontractor capacity, servicing the Kempsey, NSW region. This rewarding role involves working with children aged 1 to 12 years in home, school, and community settings.

You'll be supporting a diverse caseload of children and families, many of whom are neurodivergent (including those with ASD, ADHD, FASD) and/or have experienced developmental trauma, family disruption, or drug and alcohol exposure.

This role suits someone confident in a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming approach and skilled in working collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver client-centred OT services to children aged 1–12 years

Assess and support functional areas such as:

Sensory processing and nervous system regulation

Fine and gross motor development

Self-care and independence skills

Routines, transitions, and executive functioning

Cognitive development and learning

Social and emotional skills

Your Role will also require:

Collaborate with parents, carers, teachers, and other allied health or support professionals

Complete assessments, reports, and goal setting in line with NDIS and best-practice frameworks

Manage and prioritise a high-needs, flexible caseload

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress records

What We’re Looking For

Qualified Occupational Therapist with current AHPRA registration

Minimum 2 years’ paediatric OT experience preferred

Strong experience working with neurodivergent children (ASD, ADHD, etc.)

Trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approach

Confidence in working independently in homes, schools, and community settings

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

ABN and relevant insurances (public liability, professional indemnity)

NSW Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check

First Aid and CPR

Own vehicle and valid driver's licence
