Trainer & Assessor – Advanced Diploma in Laboratory Operations (MSL60122)

Do you have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and strong experience in Laboratory Operations Management?

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Trainer / Assessor to support students undertaking the MSL60122 Advanced Diploma in laboratory operations, with flexibility to deliver online and through RPL assessment pathways.

A day in the life

This flexible role offers the opportunity to work from home (for the right candidate) or onsite, depending on your preference and student needs. You will play a key part in guiding students through advanced laboratory practices while ensuring industry standards and compliance are met.

A typical day could see you:

· Delivering advanced training sessions online for workplace clients across Perth, with occasional travel to regional and interstate locations

· Conducting RPL assessments for MSL60122 units, ensuring evidence meets competency requirements

· Supporting learners to progress through laboratory management, quality systems, data analysis, method validation, and workplace supervision units

· Providing constructive feedback and mentoring to help students succeed in their training pathway

Reporting to the WA Training Manager, you’ll be an essential part of a close-knit team supported by resource developers, quality and compliance specialists, and a dedicated corporate services team based in our Perth head office.

Must-haves

Qualifications

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110),

OR a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (e.g. TAE, TESOL),

OR a secondary teaching qualification (ideally with TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024)

A relevant laboratory qualification (e.g. MSL50122 Diploma or higher), OR equivalent industry experience

Experience

Minimum 3 years practical experience in a senior laboratory role (e.g. laboratory management, quality management)

Experience assessing or mentoring staff in a laboratory context

Familiarity with NATA-accredited laboratories and quality frameworks

Other Requirements

A valid driver’s licence

Own vehicle

Bonus points

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

Experience in competency-based assessment or RPL processes

Previous experience in training and assessment at the Advanced Diploma level

High level of computer literacy

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to provide clear, professional feedback
