Aviassist, a multi-award-winning drone training organisation, is seeking a passionate and experienced RPAS (Drone) Instructor to join our team in Perth. Our mission is to enable organisations to introduce, grow, and mature drone programs across Australia - and we’re looking for someone who can help us deliver on that promise.

About the Role

As a Professional RPAS Instructor, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering accredited training to professionals across diverse industries. You’ll foster a safety-first culture, ensure compliance with CASA regulations, and operate Multirotor, Fixed Wing, and Powered Lift aircraft under VLOS, EVLOS, and BVLOS conditions.

While primarily based in Aviassist's Balcatta office, you’ll also travel across Australia to conduct training and support the Chief Remote Instructor when not instructing

Essential Criteria

We’re looking for someone who brings both skill and heart to the role. You’ll need:

A genuine interest in the success of others

A professional background in aviation (Piloted or Remotely Piloted)

Prior training experience

A current Driver’s Licence

Legal right to live and work in Australia

Highly Desirable

While not essential, the following will help you stand out:

Instructor rating or Cert IV in Training and Assessment

Instrument Rating Exam (IREX) / BVLOS OCTA

Previous commercial RPAS experience

Why Join Us?

Beyond the role itself, here’s why Aviassist is a great place to work

Purpose-Driven Culture
We’re committed to making a meaningful difference. Our purpose is to continuously raise the international standard for drone operations and operator training. Every instructor plays a vital role in shaping safer skies and smarter industries

Safety First, Always
Safety isn’t just a checkbox — it’s our culture. We provide a learning environment that prioritises safety, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. You’ll be part of a team that leads by example and sets the benchmark for RPAS training in Australia

Ongoing Professional Growth
We invest in our people. You’ll have access to tools and mentorship that support your development as both an instructor and aviation professional

Collaborative and Trusted Team
We work as one. Whether you're in the field or the classroom, you’ll collaborate with a team that values integrity, innovation, and shared success. Our instructors are known for their professionalism, aviation expertise, and genuine care for student outcomes

Long-Term Relationships with Clients
Our training doesn’t end after five days. We build lasting partnerships with clients, supporting them well beyond certification. As an instructor, you’ll be part of that journey — helping organisations grow and mature their drone programs

National Reach, Local Impact
With operations across Australia, you’ll have the opportunity to travel, teach, and influence drone adoption in diverse industries — from emergency services to infrastructure, agriculture, and beyond

Be Part of a Recognised Leader
Aviassist is a multi-award-winning training organisation, trusted by government, enterprise, and individuals alike. Joining us means aligning with a brand that’s respected, innovative, and growing

Renumeration

The base salary is commensurate with experience with super being paid in addition to the base salary.

Travel Allowance: A company credit card is provided for travel expenses.

Tools of Trade: All tools required for the position are provided

Professional Development: Opportunities to support the Chief Remote Pilot and gain exposure to advanced RPAS operations.

Work-Life Balance: Standard weekday hours with flexibility depending on training schedules. Weekend work is rare but may be required for specific client engagements. Some weekend travel may be required with overtime.
