About the Role
Flinders University is seeking a proactive and adaptable Administrative Officer to support the operations of the Flinders University Student Association (FUSA). This position provides frontline reception and administrative services across a wide range of student-facing programs, including support for clubs, grant administration, and general enquiries.
Key responsibilities of the position include data management, invoice processing, and coordination of finance and staffing administration across multiple teams. The position requires strong organisational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, student-focused environment.
About You
As the successful Administrative Assistant, you will bring proven administrative experience and the ability to manage a varied tasks within a busy, student-focused environment. You will be adaptable, and resourceful, with the confidence to handle high-pressure situations and support students with sensitivity and professionalism.
You will be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift quickly, demonstrating strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and financial literacy. Finally, you will be passionate about understanding what Flinders offers and the support FUSA can provides to students.
In addition to the above, you will also demonstrate:
- Ability to take initiative in problem solving, to work independently under routine to general supervision and a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Effective organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and manage a varied workload in a busy environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a responsive and effective administration service, including an understanding of, and a strong commitment to, providing professional and high-quality customer service.
About the Student Life Division
The Student Life division provides support services and programs that contribute to the student experience and success, including in the areas of health, counselling, disability services, orientation and transition, retention, student wellbeing, and student engagement. Within Student Life, Flinders University Student Association (FUSA) provides financial support to students, advocates on behalf of students, provides opportunities for student leadership and representation, manages student clubs, and provides a wide range of events and activities across Flinders Campuses.
