About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our talented team at Coast Beach Bar and Kitchen in the vibrant Surfers Paradise, Queensland. As a key member of the culinary team, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This full-time role offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise and passion for creating delicious, high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, beach-side environment.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Head Chef in the overall management and supervision of the kitchen team

Preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes to the highest standards

Ensuring kitchen operations run efficiently and effectively

Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards

Developing new menu items and contributing to the creative culinary vision

Providing guidance, training and mentorship to junior members of the kitchen brigade

Collaborating with the wider hospitality team to deliver an outstanding customer experience

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel environment

Strong technical culinary skills with a proven track record of creating innovative, high-calibre dishes

Excellent time management and organisational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen

Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to deliver exceptional flavours

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic culinary team

Strong communication and leadership skills to guide and motivate the kitchen brigade

Up-to-date knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations
