About the role
TAFE Gippsland is offering a rare and rewarding opportunity to deliver Certificate II in Horticulture through an on-Country, workplace-based model centred on bushfoods. This role involves working closely with First Nations learners, Elders, and local organisations to provide practical, land-based training deeply rooted in community, culture, and Country.
We’re seeking someone with strong horticulture or conservation knowledge, a hands-on mindset, and a passion for supporting learners from underrepresented backgrounds. You’ll be confident teaching outdoors, travelling to offsite training locations, and contributing to real-world land management and bushfoods initiatives.

What you’ll need
TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to enrol and complete within an agreed timeframe)
Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture or Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or equivalent)
Experience working with First Nations communities or learners
Strong practical skills in horticulture, bushfoods, or land management
Understanding of barriers faced by underrepresented learner cohorts
Ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and work respectfully with others
A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to travel to on-Country and offsite locations
