Salary: $86.15 - $93.08 per hour (plus superannuation)
Hours per Week: Up to 38 hours per week, subject to operational requirements

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Horticulture Teacher to join our Food, Fibre and Animal Industries department. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality vocational education, engaging with industry, and supporting student success across diverse learning environments. This role involves planning, delivering, and assessing horticulture programs, while contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver inclusive, flexible, and contemporary teaching and assessment practices
Develop and maintain high-quality educational resources
Engage with industry and stakeholders to ensure vocational relevance
Support students through learning plans and academic guidance
Maintain compliance with AQTF and RTO standards
Participate in moderation, validation, and continuous improvement activities
Mentor and support entry-level teachers and contribute to team-based program delivery
Skills and Experience Required
Relevant vocational qualifications and current industry experience
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122/TAE40116) or equivalent
Strong understanding of teaching methodologies and learner-centred approaches
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and ICT skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
Experience in student engagement and support
Knowledge of current issues in vocational education (desirable)
Additional Requirements
Successful candidate will be required to provide:
A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
A National Police Check
