Rate: $110 - $125 p/h including super (negotiable)

Role Description Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Child Support Reform Program within a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute to the development of business requirements and ensure communications reflect both evolving system capabilities and the needs of users. Working closely with policy, ICT, and operational teams, you will:

• Translate technical and policy information into plain language.
• Facilitate and support stakeholder workshops.
• Produce clear, accessible materials that aid understanding across diverse audiences.

This role will play a key part in shaping communications and materials supporting reforms to the Child Support Scheme, particularly in addressing issues of financial abuse and responding to the Commonwealth Ombudsman’s report Weaponising Child Support: When the System Fails Families.
Deliverables may include ministerial briefs, stakeholder updates, strategy documents, reports, legislative summaries, and internal guidance. The role requires strong skills in simplifying complex policy into engaging and effective outputs that build trust, transparency, and awareness of reforms.

Skills Required

• Advanced written communication: Proven ability to craft clear, concise, and targeted briefs, reports, and ministerial correspondence.
• Strategic messaging: Ability to develop communication products that effectively convey reform goals.
• Audience awareness: Skilled in tailoring content for diverse groups including internal teams, external stakeholders, and government bodies.
• Content development: Experience producing high-quality public-facing documents, strategic reports, and stakeholder updates.
• Business & system requirements: Ability to document requirements that reflect user needs and evolving system capabilities.
