About the role
At T2, great retail is about making life easier for our teams and unforgettable for our customers. The Retail Operations Manager is the central driver of execution and operational excellence across T2’s global store network.
This role ensures stores deliver consistent, premium experiences while maximising profitability and reducing friction for teams. It is deliberately hands-on and in-store focused – observing, coaching, testing, and problem-solving side-by-side with retail teams – while also leading system improvements, simplification projects, and cross-functional collaboration to unlock efficiency and growth.
A key element of the role is to identify and support opportunities for simplification, automation, and productivity-enhancing technologies (including agentic AI and retail system enhancements) that streamline operations and future-proof the business - without directly owning technical delivery.
Key responsibilities
In-Store Presence: Act as an operational catalyst on the ground - testing, learning, mentoring, and ensuring stores are set up for success.
Operational Oversight: Conduct frequent store visits to co-create workflows, identify and remove inefficiencies, and streamline execution.
Profit & Performance: Own retail financial metrics (sales, margin, EBIT, wages, expenses) while supporting trade levers (conversion, ATV, IPC, loyalty).
Simplification & Future-Readiness: Spot and support opportunities for simplification, process automation, and productivity-enhancing technologies that reduce complexity and improve outcomes.
Performance Reporting: Deliver accurate, timely reporting on wages, expenses, and performance to inform decision-making.
Policy & Process Development: Embed consistent processes and policies that drive compliance, efficiency, and best practice.
Project Management: Lead operational improvement projects that reduce costs, enhance systems, and enable digital transformation.
Technology & Systems: Oversee effective use of POS, payments/merchant, and workforce scheduling systems; ensure data accuracy and actionable insights.
Customer & Team Experience: Continuously improve the store team experience and elevate the customer journey, aligned with T2’s experiential retail approach.
