Locky’s Countryside Meats which recently has come under new ownership and is one of the largest butcheries in the Albury, NSW region, is seeking an experienced Retail Butcher to join our team. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled butcher to contribute to the daily operations and success of our family-owned business with above award wages. Our shop has a retail front and a large wholesale clientele that we deliver to, we also have a 2nd shop in Lavington.

What we're looking for

· An experienced and skilled Retail Butcher – ideally qualified OR a 3rd/4th year Apprentice

· Must have a strong knowledge of meat selection, portion control, breaking beef bodies

· Knife handling skills, cutting techniques, and great knowledge of food safety regulations

· Smallgoods making experience would be ideal or the willingness to learn the skilled practice

· Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide knowledgeable product recommendations

· Good time management and multitasking abilities

· A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety

· The ability to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team

· Computer skills

· Driver's License preferred

What you'll be doing

· Cutting, preparing, and packaging a variety of fresh meats and smallgoods to customer specifications

· Providing exceptional customer service and advising customers on product selection and preparation

· Maintaining a clean, well-organised, and safe work environment

· Assisting with inventory management and order fulfilment

· Contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the butchery team

· Some weekend work will be required
