Competitive remuneration on SCHADS Award Level 8, starting from $130,900 (incl leave loading) base salary, plus super and NFP salary sacrifice

About Us

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA), is the national peak body for LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing for organisations and individuals that provide health-related programs, services and research focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/transgender, intersex, queer and other sexual orientations, gender, and bodily diverse people.

About The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this pivotal role will lead the strategic direction of LHA’s policy, research, and communications functions. As a key representative of the organisation, you will engage with senior government officials, strategic partners, and stakeholders to influence national policy, research and communications and drive sector-wide change. You will lead a high-performing team, champion innovation, and ensure LHA’s work is grounded in evidence, aligned with LHA’s purpose, and communicated effectively to diverse audiences

What you will do

Provide strategic leadership across policy development, research, and communications.

Represent the organisation at the highest levels with government, members, and strategic partners

Deliver expert advice and insights to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement across all portfolio areas.

Strengthen stakeholder engagement and national presence through regular travel and representation.

Build organisational capacity to influence health and wellbeing policy through evidence-based approaches.

You are a dynamic and strategic thinker with:

Proven experience in senior leadership roles within policy, advocacy, or strategic partnerships.

Demonstrated understanding of the LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing sector or related fields.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

A track record of influencing policy and building high-impact partnerships.

Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative and empowering approach.
