About the role

Are you a Registered Nurse looking to specialise in mental health nursing? South West Healthcare invites you to join our 12-month Postgraduate Nurse Program, a part-time (64 hours per fortnight) supernumerary role within our Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit, designed to help you grow in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Work alongside an experienced team of Registered Mental Health Nurses, gain exposure to a broad range of mental health care services, and enhance your expertise through regular Professional Development and Clinical Supervision. This is your opportunity to develop specialist skills and make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Position Overview

  • Fixed Term, part time (64 hours per fortnight) 12 months commencing February 2026
  • Warrnambool Campus
  • Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2
  • Salary Range: $72,404.80 - $96,808.40 per annum, pro rata + superannuation

What you bring

  • Registration with the APHRA, as a Registered Nurse
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for team collaboration
  • Strong understanding of legislation, contemporary frameworks, and recovery-oriented practices
  • Enrolment in, or aspiration to complete, postgraduate studies in Specialist Mental Health Nursing (preferred)
