City of Darwin Family and Children’s Services delivers the Fun Bus mobile playgroup program, Monday to Friday at different locations throughout the municipality of Darwin for families with babies to 5-year-old children. The team also, provides Fun in the Parks school holiday program and children’s and family activities and events. These programs are FREE, fun and an informal space where parents, carers, babies and children can come together to have fun, play and learn in a relaxed and friendly environment.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Children’s Programs Officer, this role focuses in working with the Family and Children’s Service team to deliver a broad range of children’s programs and events for Darwin’s diverse community.
To be considered for the role you will have excellent customer service skills and passionate about providing high quality educational and play-based programs to children aged 0 to 12-year-old.
You will be required to do physical lifting of equipment and participation in outdoor activities with children and families at different locations throughout Darwin.
Mandatory requirements for the junior role:
· Hold a valid Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE)
Essential for Level 1:
· Cert II in Children Services or a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience
Essential for Level 2:
· Cert III in Children Services or equivalent qualifications and three (3) years relevant experience in children services or customer services.
Hold and maintain a Class C driver’s licence
At City of Darwin, we offer competitive remuneration with generous leave entitlements. This position is remunerated $32.5133 per hour depending on experience + casual loading or penalty rates.
